Huge thanks to Rev’d Kathryn Sperring from St John’s Thornton who is covering all our services today and in the coming week. We are looking forward to her ministering to us. The Vicar of St John’s, Rev’d Jane Atkinson has been appointed to the position of Archdeacon of Blackburn. This is a super appointment and we wish Jane and Mel every blessing as they move to Blackburn in the next few weeks.
Saturday 20th September: 🎶 We’re delighted to be hosting what promises to be another unforgettable evening of music! This time we welcome the magnificent Capricorn Singers, joined by their Patron, the celebrated soprano Jane Wilkinson. Jane is renowned for her unique interpretation of tone and text and admired as a dedicated teacher nurturing both emerging voices and aspiring professionals. All proceeds from this concert will go to support the Fleetwood Music and Arts Festival. Tickets just £10 on the door – don’t miss it!
Nancy’s funeral: Will be held in church on Monday, 22nd September. Last chance to share a memory of Nancy to be read during the service. If you would like to contribute, please write down your memory and post it through the Vicarage door or alternatively email the Vicar at [email protected]
Harvest Ceilidh: Join us for an evening of music, laughter, and dancing with the brilliant Still Reeling Ceilidh & Barn Dance Band. Saturday 11th October Tickets £10 (include fish & chip supper) — available now from Alan and Karen. Limited numbers, first come first served. Hosted by St Nic’s on behalf of Churches Together in Fleetwood — it’s going to be a night to remember!
Sticking with Harvest, Messy Church is taking place on Saturday 4th October. We need jars to make harvest lanterns. If you have any going spare please may we have them? There’s a box at the back of church! Please take some flyers too and hand them out to families with school aged children.
Prayers: Please pray that the right candidates will apply for our Youth Pastor position and that God will grant us right discernment at the interview stage.
Please also pray for, Brian Brown, Chris Kelsall, Harvey Stansfield, Sandra Foulkes, Maureen Baines, Hannah, Keith, Carol Walters and Sarah Taylor. We also remember June Larkin, Peter Tilling, Marion Cross, Nancy Burr and Denise Cockshot whose funerals are due to take place.
