A huge thank you to David and Joanne Ashworth for so generously hosting and looking after the two concerts we’ve just enjoyed in church. Their hard work behind the scenes — planning, organising, and caring for both choirs and audiences — made everything run so smoothly. We’re truly grateful!
Harvest Ceilidh: Join us for an evening of music, laughter, and dancing with the brilliant Still Reeling Ceilidh & Barn Dance Band. Saturday 11th October Tickets £10 (include fish & chip supper) — available now from Alan and Karen. Limited numbers, first come first served. Hosted by St Nic’s on behalf of Churches Together in Fleetwood — it’s going to be a night to remember!
Sticking with Harvest, Messy Church is taking place on Saturday 4th October. We need jars to make harvest lanterns. If you have any going spare please may we have them? There’s a box at the back of church! Please take some flyers too and hand them out to families with school aged children.
Christmas decorations and crafts: It may feel a little early to be thinking about Christmas—especially while we’re still preparing for Harvest—but Christmas crafts need time and planning!
This year at the Christmas Fair, St Nic’s will be introducing two brand-new stalls:
- One selling good-quality Christmas decorations
- One offering homemade Christmas crafts and gifts
If you have any decorations you’d be happy to donate, please set them aside—we’ll let you know when to bring them in closer to the event.
As for crafts, here are some ideas to get you started: knitted covers for chocolate oranges, crocheted stockings, mini-Christmas trees, hot chocolate kits, handmade soaps in festive wrapping, napkin rings, or beaded keyrings. Let’s get creative and make our stalls stand out this year!
Prayers: Please pray that the right candidates will apply for our Youth Pastor position and that God was grant us right discernment at the interview stage.
Please also pray for, Brian Brown, Chris Kelsall, Harvey Stansfield, Sandra Foulkes, Maureen Baines, Hannah, Keith, Carol Walters and Sarah Taylor. We also remember Nancy Burr and Denise Cockshot whose funerals are due to take place.
