Bishop’s Harvest Appeal: Thank you to all who donated to the appeal either with a direct donation or via the harvest auction. We are sending £520 to help with training needs in our link Diocese in the Free State in South Africa.

Christmas Draw Raffle Tickets: Are now available and we’re hoping that we can all sell 5 books each at £1 per ticket. If you are on the electoral roll, you will receive and envelope containing the tickets, if not please see Ruth who will be happy to provide you with some!

All Saints and All Souls: All Saints’ Day falls on the 1st November each year and we will celebrate it next Sunday (2/11). It is a reminder of our connectedness as Christians to the church and our conviction that there is a spiritual connection between those in Heaven and on Earth. On All Saints’ Day there is a focus on saints and martyrs, known and unknown, whose faith and example have been passed on to us through the ages.

All Souls’ Day falls on the 2nd November and is when we remember our own loved ones and all the faithful departed. With All Souls falling on Sunday this year, the names of our loved ones will be remembered during the Sunday service at 10.45. There is a sheet at the back of church for you to append the name(s) you wish to be remembered during that service. The lists will be placed on altar rather than being read out individually on this occasion.  Later on the same day at 4 pm there will be another service to which the families of all the funerals we have officiated at in the last twelve months have been invited. The names of their loved ones will be read out and they will have the opportunity to light a candle in remembrance. You are invited to come along to this service to welcome and support our guests.

Bible Sunday: Today is the day when we celebrate the Bible and it reminds us of the central role that the Bible plays in Christian faith and practice. The Bible provides guidance and inspiration and Bible Sunday gives us the opportunity to reflect on the Bible's importance in our church's history and identity.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Word—
a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
As we read and hear the Scriptures today, open our hearts and minds to understand Your truth.
Help us not only to listen, but to live according to Your Word, so that our lives may reflect Your love and grace.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers: Please also pray for, Brian Brown, Chris Kelsall, Harvey Stansfield, Sandra Foulkes, Maureen Baines, Hannah, Carol Walters, Muriel, Debbie, Joyce Bussell and Sarah Taylor. We also remember Gloria Hitch whose funeral is due to take place.
