In Flanders fields the poppies blow between the crosses, row on row, that mark our place;

and in the sky the larks, still bravely singing, fly scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago, we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, loved, and were loved, and now we lie in Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: to you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders fields.

Christmas Fair: Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has already donated such generous gifts, chocolates, bottles, and decorations for our Christmas Fair. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated. A special thank you also goes to all those working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare for this wonderful community event — especially those helping with the raffle ticket sales.  With just three more Sundays to go, let’s double our efforts! Together, we can make this year’s fair the talk of the town — a true celebration of our hospitality, generosity, and festive spirit.

Save the date! Join us on Sunday 7th December at 10.45am for our celebration of St Nicholas’ Patronal Festival. We are delighted to welcome Bishop Philip, who will be preaching and presiding at this special service. This joyful occasion is one of the highlights of our church year and we hope it will be made even brighter by wonderful news from our Christmas Fair the day before. Let’s fill the church and celebrate together on the 7th!
