Mission Weekend on September 11th–13th. Mark your calendars now! Planning and prayer are already underway as we discern how best to bless our community and create opportunities for people to encounter the good news of the gospel. More details to come, but for now, get ready for a year of celebration, faith, and mission!
Christmas Fair: Drum roll, please…Our final total is in: £4,600! Absolutely A-MAZ-ING!
A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who donated, joined in, planned, supported, delivered and welcomed. We couldn’t have done it without you. We’ve even been crowned the “Best Fair in Town!” — but let’s keep that bit between us!
Christmas Wishes: Why not consider sending a Christmas greeting to the whole church family on our specially prepared ‘Christmas greeting notice sheet’ instead of sending Christmas cards? You might even donate the cost of your cards to church(?) The sheet will be printed on 20th December. Please jot down your message, email it, hand it to the Vicar or pop it through the Vicarage letter box. Verbal requests may get overlooked! If you are bringing cards please try to hand them out, rather than leave them at the back of church.
This week: Get into the Christmas spirit this coming week with the Capricorn Singers on Thursday evening. Join us on Saturday for carol singing outside Aldi, followed by hot drinks and mince pies back at the church. Round off your Sunday with a retelling of the prophecies and Scripture readings that foretold the birth of our Saviour, along with carols accompanied by the award-winning Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band.
100 Club: On Thursday, at the Christmas Coffee morning, we will make the final large draw for 2025. This includes a 1st prize of £100. We are preparing the 100 Club for 2026 so if you would like to join up, please see Ruth. It costs £1 per number per week with weekly draws and 3 larger draws. This year the 100 Club has contributed over £2500 to church funds with the same amount being returned in prizes. You have to be in it to win it!
Prayers: Please also pray for, Harvey Stansfield, Hannah, Carol Walters, Muriel, Debbie, Paul Gosling, Helen Willott, Paul Sumner, Maureen Hardman and Sarah Taylor. We also remember Fred Thornton, Brian Brown, Ivy Roskell, David Bunnell and Kathleen Jackson whose funerals are due to take place.
