As we approach the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 is natural to look back and reflect on the past year. As with most years, it has had its share of highlights and sadness, not just for us as a church but for us as individuals too. We launch into a new year with hope in our hearts, rejoicing in the hundreds of people and families of who have been ministered to through baptisms and funerals and through our weekly run of services and community activities in 2025. We rejoice in the countless ‘get togethers’, when we’ve enjoyed quality food and fellowship together. And we look forward to all that God has in store for us in this coming year. As we say goodbye to this year and welcome the new one, let's do so with thankful hearts.

Lord, we look toward you, our hope, our peace, and our comfort in this New Year. As we enter into the unknown of the coming year, we ask for your guidance and wisdom. Illuminate our path with your light so that we may walk in your ways and make choices that align with your will.

Help us to seek first your kingdom and trust that all other things will be added unto us. Amen

Thank You for Your Faithful Giving: We are deeply thankful to everyone who supports St Nic’s through regular weekly or monthly giving. Your generosity and commitment enable us to plan wisely, budget confidently, and continue the ministry and mission of our church. Weekly giving envelopes for 2026 are now available at the back of church. While we recognise that envelopes remain the best option for some, the closure of local banks has made handling cash increasingly challenging.

To help with this, partly completed standing order forms are also available at the back of church. If you are able, we would be extremely grateful if you could add your details and post the form to your bank. This allows your gift to be transferred directly to St Nic’s account, helping us greatly with administration and planning. Thank you once again for your ongoing generosity and support — it truly makes a difference.

Prayers: Please also pray for, Martyn Westby, Harvey Stansfield, Hannah, Carol Walters, Muriel, Helen Willott, Paul Sumner and Maureen Hardman. We also remember the lives and families of Brian Brown, Paul Gosling, Hidy Cartmel, Jack Briggs and Kathleen Jackson whose funerals are due to take place.
