Thursday Coffee & Lunch in Support of Brian House: Our much-loved Community Coffee Morning is getting an extended run again this week — we’ll be open right through to 12:30pm! Alongside our usual selection of teas, coffees and sweet treats, we’ll also be serving delicious homemade soup to keep you warm and well-fed. We’re especially pleased to be welcoming a representative from Brian House, who will be hosting a fundraiser and giving a short talk about the wonderful work of the children’s hospice. All donations received on Thursday will go directly to support their vital work. Why not drop in, relax for a while and bring a couple of friends along? We’d love to see you!
Lent Lunches: For many years Churches Together in Fleetwood have hosted a simple lunch of soup and a roll on each of the Fridays in Lent. It’s an opportunity to meet with other Christians and to invite your neighbours along too for fellowship and a bite of lunch. There is no cost, although we are encouraged to make a donation towards this year’s chosen charity, Tearfund. Please do make a determined effort to come to as many of these lunches as you are able. Much preparation is involved for the hosting church! St Mary’s Church is hosting this Friday’s lunch from 11.45 am
The Bereavement Journey: If you or someone you know is struggling with the burden of grief, we hope you will benefit from attending The Bereavement Journey. The Bereavement Journey offers 7 weekly sessions in a relaxed and informal setting with refreshments. Participants are placed in groups of 6-8 for discussion following short films and volunteers guide them in exploring their loss, using a provided Manual. Anyone for whom someone important has died at any time is welcome. The course is being held at Emmanuel Church on the Mount and begins on Thursday, 26th Feb at 7:30pm - 9:00pm. Please see the Vicar if you require any further details.
Lent Study Course: Starts Wednesday 25th February, for five consecutive weeks, 4.30 pm at St David’s Church on Larkholme Lane. There is a list at the back of church today if you need a lift.
Diocesan Lent Devotionals: These booklets are available at the back of Church. They provide a daily reflection for each day of Lent. Join with us and the Diocese as we journey together. There are large print copies for anyone who needs them and also little cards with QR codes which will take you to the Diocesan app on your smart phone where you will also find the daily reflections and bible readings.
Prayers: Please pray for Dorothy Angel, Anthony, Jeff Chambers, Harvey Stansfield, Hannah, Carol Walters, Muriel, Paul Sumner, Debbie, Maureen Hardman, Ron & Joyce Bussell. We also remember he lives and families of, Janis Lowden, Violet Clapp and Julie Travis whose funerals are due to take place.
