Easter Day: Join us for a joyful Easter Day! Following the Easter Eucharist at 10.45am, we’ll continue the celebrations in the Broadway Rooms with a wonderful Jacob’s Join lunch, a fabulous Easter Bonnet Parade and a fun-filled quiz for all ages.
Please add your name to the sign-up sheet at the back of church if you’re coming for lunch — and if you’re able to bring something to share for the buffet, do pop that down too. Your contributions help make the table truly special! It’s always such a lovely day to relax together, welcome new faces and enjoy good food and great company. We would love you to be part of it — and don’t forget to start designing your Easter bonnet! Come and celebrate the joy of Easter with us! And if you are able to donate any chocolate/Easter eggs for prizes, they will be gratefully received in the Vicar’s vestry!!
Lent Study 2 “Knowing Jesus” In the second session of the Lent Course Knowing Jesus, the focus moved from the Ascended Jesus to the Sending Jesus, reflecting on the story of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8:26–40. The passage showed how Philip, motivated not by his own inner strength but by the transforming power of Jesus’ death and resurrection, was led by the Spirit to share the good news. Using Isaiah 53, Philip explained that it is Jesus who is the “Lamb of God” who takes on the sins of the world, bringing freedom and reconciliation with God through his sacrificial death—what Christians call atonement. This extraordinary gift of freedom is what compels Christians to share their faith. To truly know Jesus is not only to understand what he has done, but to be sent by him: living out the self-giving love of the cross in everyday actions and being ready to speak about the hope and freedom that Christ brings. Why not join us for session 3?
