Midweek Community is a programme designed to build community and friendship in our local area. On the first Thursday of each month the church hosts a lunch, open to everyone without booking, which starts with optional communion at 12 noon, followed by a simple, homemade lunch of soup, bread, cheese and fruit served at 12.45 and speakers programme and social time from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Although everyone is welcome to communion and to stay for lunch, this social event is primarily aimed at senior members of our church and wider community. Lifts are available.
So that there is frequent outreach to seniors in our parish, with an opportunity for them to enjoy social time and to build friendships, we also encourage attendance at and advertise Coffee Pot (in the church hall every Wednesday morning in term time) and the local Senior Film Club once a month at St. Peter’s Henleaze.
