The PCC signed a contract with DM Windows of Bristol for the replacement of the Peter Window, which is suffering from concrete cancer in the mullions supporting the Frank Roper framed glass, on 7th August 2025. The work has been guided and approved under an emergency faculty, granted on health and safety grounds and due to the threat to the Roper heritage glass, by the Bristol Diocese Advisory Committee.
The Roper glass will be removed and stored to be utilised elsewhere in the complex when resources allow.
The current frame and glass will be replaced with an aluminium structure configured and coloured as now but with clear and frosted double glazed sealed units. These will improve the thermal performance of the building
We hope the major work on this project will start in mid-late September, bringing to fruition a project 14 years in the making.
