During a christening your child will be baptized with water. It’s the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family.

We welcome all children, adults and families who wish to be baptised at a christening service in church, no matter the shape or age of your family. If your child is 12 or older, they may wish to make the promises to follow Jesus themselves. Usually, if they are younger, then parents and godparents make promises on their behalf until they decide to confirm them for themselves at a later date.

Baptism usually takes place as part of a church service so we can welcome you into the church family but please talk to us if you would prefer a private service. 

Baptism is free - there may be costs for a party afterwards with your family and friends or for baptism gifts for your child, young person or adult but the service in church is without cost.
