Christmas Tree Festival

Occurring
for 8 days, 5 hours
Venue
St Mary's Chilham
Address
The Square Chilham Canterbury, CT4 8BY, United Kingdom

Many people have been asking when there will be a Christmas Tree
festival! After a short break, the King’s Wood Benefice is pleased to
announce its return this year.
It opens at 12 noon on Saturday 5th December with the peal of church
bells and runs through until Sunday 13th December.
The church will be open from 12 noon until 5pm for viewing the
trees each day and light refreshments will served by teams from
around the Benefice. There will be a programme of musical
entertainment each day.
There will be two workshops
• Children’s Christmas workshop – Saturday 5th December
10AM to 11.30am - free
• Wreath making in the Church for adults, with cheese and
wine – lead by Christina – Tuesday 8th December 7PM to
9PM (£50 per person)
Admission is free but donations are welcome for the two charities we
support. Once again these will be shared between Catching Lives, an
organisation that supports the homeless in Canterbury, and Pastos
Verdes, a Christian charity in Mozambique providing a range of
social, welfare and educational facilities.
As the Festival concludes on Sunday 13th December, the lights on
the village Christmas Tree in Chilham Square will be switched on at
6pm followed by carol singing – watch this space to find out who
will be pushing the button!
If you would like to be involved, to provide and decorate a tree,
to help with refreshments or stewarding, or have any suggestions
about some entertainment or music, please contact our
Administrator at
