Church of England Diocese of Canterbury St. Mary the Virgin Dover

St Mary's Church, Dover

The Parish Church of St Mary's is located in the town centre of Dover and has been witness to the Christian faith for over 900 years. St Mary's is one of the Dover Town group of churches, a church community in the Deanery of Dover and the Diocese of Canterbury in the Church of England.

Our Mission is 'to encourage and nurture growth in the Christian faith and to seek to live and share the good news of Jesus Christ.'

We are also very active in our local community working alongside other agencies, such as Christians Together in Dover, and running our own projects in order to express the love of God in practical ways.

Sung Eucharist

Every First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Last Sunday at for 1 hour
St Mary's Church, Dover
Cannon Street Dover, CT16 1BY, GB

St Mary's welcomes one and all to join us for a morning service every Sunday at 10.45am. This is usually a Sung Eucharist, led by our Clergy and robed choir. On the fourth Sunday of the month we have an 'all-age' Eucharist, and on the second Sunday this service is replaced by Sung Matins.

A service has been held at St Mary the Virgin, Dover, to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Herald of Free Enterprise tragedy at Zeebrugge in 1987, in which 193 people died.
