St Catherine's church community will be collecting for Faversham Foodbank this Lent. 

The foodbank was established in 2014 as an initiative of Churches Together in Faversham and has been helping local people in crisis ever since. Providing food to vulnerable people in Faversham and the surrounding area is central to the foodbank’s mission - but it does so much more. You can read about their work here:

Collecting for the foodbank this year is particularly poignant as it is the first anniversary of the death of our dear friend and brother In Christ, Rodney Foord - pictured above. Rod was a great advocate and supporter of the foodbank and a volunteer since its inception. 

Each Lent the foodbank produces an 'AdLent calendar' with suggested items for donation for each of the 40 days of Lent. This year's version can be downloaded from this page. We will be collecting donations in crates in church from Ash Wednesday until Palm Sunday. Donations can be placed in the crates whenever the church is open for a service or another event.
