About Us

St. Catherine is a Victorian brick church built by a Vicar of St. Laurence to serve this 'distant' part of the parish.  Our church is very attractive with its latticed-leaded windows and is the perfect size for most wedding ceremonies.  We can accommodate visiting choirs (in the past few years The Thanet Community Gospel Choir and The Thanet Male Voice Choir have both performed at weddings).

During the summer months we hold "Open Church" sessions - look out for this year's day and timings.  We have a Bring and Buy table for charity, a lending library and many practical activities on offer.  Look in the church magazine "The Beacon" for more details nearer the time.

In spring we hold an Art Festival - local artists may display their work for a small charge.  This is co-ordinated by Mike Samson of the Acol Art Group (he also has a gallery in York Street in Ramsgate).  The Festival runs over an entire weekend.

Opposite the church is the village pub which caters for sit-down parties (such as wedding receptions).  Also, in the village is the licensed Manston Leisure Club which runs live music concerts, dancing and so on.  It is also available for hire for parties and wedding receptions (buffet-style catering is available by request).

Recently we have been hosting prayer meetings for Manston Airport.  Details of the next meeting can be found on the Support Manston website or outside the church in the week prior to the meeting (Saturday mornings).

We have a small friendly congregation - come and meet us!
