Church of England Diocese of Canterbury Ashford Town

About Us

Welcome to the page for the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in Willesborough.

We are one of the three churches in the South East Local Area of the Ashford Town Parish. We work very closely with our sister churches at Christ Church in South Ashford and Sevington Church.

Here at St Mary’s, we are a church focused on hospitality and welcome, determined to offer a place where everyone feels welcome and safe, and try our best to practice the inclusive gospel of Christ, accepting everyone from all backgrounds and walks of life. Our aim is to meet people where they are on their journey and accompany and encourage them as they join our wider church family.

We have a very active social calendar throughout the year that draws on every aspect of life, from cream tea’s and quiz nights to barn dances and tribute bands there is something for everyone. While we are online, we continue to hold social events, though of course these do look rather different.

The format of worship that we have offered traditionally has been:

1st Sunday of the Month: Informal Worship (Non-Eucharistic)

Other Sunday’s of the Month: Sung Eucharist

Although this has been the traditional pattern of worship in St Mary’s, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we have had to amend the pattern. All of our services have now gone online, and we are alternating between Christ Church and Willesborough at 10:15am and we warmly invite you to join us from wherever you might be.
