Daily Scripture

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” (Ecclesiastes 11:5)

Daily Reflection:

These words were written almost three thousand years ago. At that time, “man” did not know the science of these things; today it can be argued that we do. Does that make this verse null and void? No; but we should think about what the scriptures are saying to us.</span>

The formation of a new life is still absolutely incredible – even though we understand so much more about it. For me, it is one of the things that shows there is God: how can something so incredible happen without a God? It starts with an egg and a sperm; the egg is fertilised; the cell divides; it divides again and again and again….; and nine months later another incredible human-being is born. The maker of all things is still to be held in awe!
