Daily Scripture:

‘Your word is a lantern to my feet and a light upon my path.’ (Psalm 119.105)

Daily Reflection:

I have long enjoyed the meaning that this image in the Psalms conjures: light for my feet so that I don’t trip over things that are in the way; and light along the path that I should be walking so that I know the way that I should be going. Both keeping me safe from harm as I walk along in the dark. And what is it that the Psalmist says provides that safety and guidance? “Your word” – God’s “word”……i.e. picking up your Bible and reading it. Don’t let it be a well-intentioned gift that you were given years ago that now sits on a shelf or in a drawer doing nothing. Pick it up, and read a little bit….every day. It will bring light to your life.
