Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified: hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people, that in their vocation and ministry they may serve you in holiness and truth to the glory of your name.

Daily Reflection

Yesterday was a very special occasion for our parishes, when Ylva, our curate, was ordained priest. As a deacon she has already been a part of our church community for the last year, and we rejoice that she has found her very special ‘vocation and ministry’ among us as a fully fledged priest.

But today’s Collect reminds us that is by no means only the ordained who are called to serve God in a special way, but ‘all God’s faithful people’

We are all called, and however insignificant we may believe ourselves to be, God has a special ministry, tailor made to fit every single one of us.

Open our eyes and our ears to you Lord, so that we may discern your will for us.
