Daily Scripture‘See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances;’ (1 Thessalonians 12, 15-18)Daily ReflectionFirstly, a thank you to all those in our villages who have taken the time to light up their houses for Christmas. Jesus called himself the " Light of the World", and I remember this every time the sun sets and the Christmas lights come on. This season is one of joy, and of hope - a season where we can reach out to each other (from a short distance!) and light up another's life - through doing good things for each other, through praying for each other and giving thanks to our wonderful God, knowing that nothing and no-one can change the plans He has for us. Throughout everything we have been through, and whatever is to come, Paul tells us to "give thanks". It may seem strange to thank God for a difficult year, but it creates such heavenly power when we choose to say thank you in the midst of adversity. Today, choose to say thank you to God - He alone can bring good out of difficult circumstances. Vicki Young

Daily Scripture:Make me to know your ways, O Lordand teach me your paths.Lead me in your truth and teach me,For you are the God of my salvation, for you I have hoped all the day long.Remember, Lord, your compassion and love,For they are from everlasting. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions, but think on me in your goodness, O Lord,According to your steadfast love (Psalm 25: 3-6)Daily Reflection:The Psalmist is asking God for teaching and guidance. How much we can feel at one with him, or her, at this moment. If only someone would guide us! The future seems so unclear, we can feel like we are stumbling about in fog. What is true? Which future scenario seems most likely? Like the Psalmist we have all made some rather dire mistakes, taken some paths that we should better have left alone, both as individuals and as a society, or even as a world population. Now we have to ask God to show us mercy, to forget our wrongdoings and give us another chance, so that we can start to put things right. And we can safely turn to God, whose love for us is steadfast and everlasting. Revd Ylva
