Daily Scripture1 Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvellous things. 10 In righteousness shall he judge the world and the peoples with equity. (Psalm 98:1&10)Daily ReflectionThe Psalmist sings praises to God. He wants the whole world to burst into song; to get out instruments and make joyous music to praise God because of all the wonderful things God has done. Just look around at creation; the beauty of it surely can’t be an accident! The Psalmist also praises God because he treats all people fairly and equally. He also loves all his creation, all people, equally. Thank God that he does; and that he has shown us the way to be saved. Let’s sing our songs of praise to God for that today.Lord God, just and true, you make your salvation known in the sight of the nations; tune the song of our hearts to the music of creation as you come among us to judge the earth; through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.Revd David

Daily Scripture“Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” Psalm 119.105Daily Reflection A French priest, Père Jean-Luc, once wrote that while we expect God to illuminate the whole of the path ahead with a great lighthouse beam, what He actually gives us is more like a bicycle lamp, giving us just enough light to show us the way, and encouraging us to trust Him for the rest of our journey. (In French this is quite witty, as the words for ‘lighthouse’ and ‘bicycle lamp’ are almost identical!) Just as we pray ‘Give us this day our daily bread’, not a whole freezer full, but just enough for today’s needs, so we pray that Jesus, the incarnate Word, the Light of the world, will light up each step of our way as we journey on in faith.
