First recorded in 820 AD and mentioned in the Domesday Book, our Grade I listed church features a rich architectural tapestry spanning from the Early English nave (c. 1200) to our distinctive 18th-century brick tower and Flemish-gabled porch. From medieval wool merchants stopping to pray at the Chapel of St Catherine before resting at the Woolpack Inn opposite, to villagers seeking a safe sanctuary and gathering place throughout the ages, this building has stood as a quiet beacon of faith and shelter across the centuries.

Today, our doors remain open to all as a peaceful place for worship, quiet reflection, and private prayer. As a small rural parish maintaining this ancient heritage, we rely heavily on the kindness of visitors to help us preserve the church for generations to come.
