Church of England Diocese of Canterbury Sittingbourne Saint Mary and Saint Michael

St. Michael's Sittingbourne

We have a new Interim Minister, the Rev David Ridley who was Licenced on the 4th August by Bishop Rose.

Services in August are Sundays at 10 am, but as we move into September we hope to gently expand our activities, do watch this space and our Facebook page, or come along and meet us.

21 June 2021

We are still in Interregnum for the moment so we are mostly alternating Holy Communion and Morning Prayer at 10 am on Sundays

Upcoming Services are:

27 June, 11 July, Morning Prayer

4 July, 18 July, 25 July and 1 August Holy Communion

On the 25 July we welcome Arch Deacon Andrew to 'open' the kitchenette and Toilet

If you wish to enquire about weddings or christenings please email us via this web site, we look forward to meeting you. Thank You

We will now be taking a 'summer break' from broadcasting Morning Prayer on Tuesday and Evening Prayer on Friday. But our team will still be praying these Offices in their homes and we will update you as to when services will return online.

News 16 April 2021

We are currently undergoing building work, sadly the church is not available for services until 23 May at the earliest so that we can keep everyone safe. When these are completed we will have a toilet and kitchenette in the building.

We are also updating our electoral roll, if you think you should be on it then please contact us by the 24 April 2021

Thank You

 Tracy

Update: 11 January 2021

As we move into 2021 we have carefully considered the safety aspects of re-opening St. Michael's for public worship. Our building already has undergone a stringent risk assessment and modifications but in the light of the current covid situation we will not be opening for in-person services whilst the current lockdown is in place.

When we do again reopen it will continue to be different as at present we have no choir or congregational singing, but our organ sounds wonderful.

There will however be a Said livestreamed Morning Prayer service from the church or a Leaders home on Sunday Mornings at 10 am throughout this time.

There will also be face book livestreamed Morning Prayer at 9.30 am on Tuesday and 5.30 pm on Friday (again from a leaders home).

And a social space on zoom at 11.15 am on a Wednesday (message us through our church face book for access details).

Visit our pages to print your own service booklet if you prefer, or download an electronic version. For more information please send us an email through our "Contact Us" section.

You can also continue to support us financially through our on-line giving link - Thank You

Following the temporary closure of our church building in March, we are carefully returning to worship in this sacred space. Our capacity is very much reduced, social distancing and hand sanitizer stations are in place. If you would like to join us from home, or come along with your own printed service booklet, please see the attachment here. Technology permitting we hope to Live-stream this service via our Facebook Page too. Following this service the building will remain open for personal prayer. If you are unable to attend, but would like us to say a prayer for you, or for any other additional information please do send us an email.
Also please note that following our service on Sunday 9th August there will be a short summer break and the weekly services will resume Sunday 13th September.
