About Us

St Cuthbert's Kirklinton is one of four churches in the benefice of Bewcastle, Stapleton and Kirklinton with Hethersgill. Sunday services alternate around the benefice, which comprises Bewcastle, Stapleton, Kirklinton and Hethersgill churches. We have a small, friendly congregation, deeply embedded in the local farming community and open to all. You will find a warm welcome and a friendly face when you visit.

Together with St Mary's Hethersgill we hold a Big Breakfast at Hethersgill Hall on the last Sunday of January, a Summer Fair, a Harvest Lunch on the last Sunday of September, and a Christmas Fair each year.

Promoting a Safer Church

The parish of Kirklinton :St Cuthbert is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of Carlisle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

For any other concerns you may have please contact the Safeguarding Officer: Margaret Story on 01228 675652, email: [email protected]
