Our new Bishop of Carlisle, the Rt. Revd. Rob Saner-Haigh will be visiting Furness deanery on Wednesday 5th November 2025.

During his visit, Bishop Rob will be meeting parishioners in a number of parish settings, visiting Church schools to see Open the Book and experience an after-school Christian club. Then in the evening there will be an opportunity for all to attend a short Holy Communion led by Bishop Rob and/or an open meeting with the bishop.

The evening Holy Communion will be at 7.00pm, followed by the open meeting at 7.30pm, both at St. Mary's, Dalton.

Funeral and Thanksgiving for the life of George Young. The Revd. Martin Williams will be conducting the service.

The Ethos Committee of Penny Bridge CE Academy will be meeting to discuss forthcoming assemblies for the Christian Value of that half-term.

The Ethos Committee is made up of pupils from each of the 6 year groups in the school, and is also attended by the Revd. Brian Streeter and school governor representatives.

The Open the Book team from the benefice are dramatizing another Bible story with the children at Penny Bridge CE Academy.
