Bishop Rob Visit

Our new Bishop of Carlisle, the Rt. Revd. Rob Saner-Haigh will be visiting Furness deanery on Wednesday 5th November 2025.

During his visit, Bishop Rob will be meeting parishioners in a number of parish settings, visiting Church schools to see Open the Book and experience an after-school Christian club. Then in the evening there will be an opportunity for all to attend a short Holy Communion led by Bishop Rob and/or an open meeting with the bishop.

The evening Holy Communion will be at 7.00pm, followed by the open meeting at 7.30pm, both at St. Mary's, Dalton.

Morning Prayer at UPC.


10.00am

Pennington CE Primary School

Visit to Pennington CE Primary School to see Open the Book assembly, and includes tour of the school


11.00am

Great Urswick Parish Room

Visit to Low Furness churches to meet with parishioners.


12.00-2.00pm

Old King’s Head, Broughton

Meeting of Chapter for discussion and prayer, including lunch at the Old King’s Head, Broughton


2.15pm

St. George’s, Millom

Visit to Millom churches to meet with parishioners.


3.30pm

Broughton CE Primary School

Visit to Broughton CE Primary School including after-school club


5.00pm

Dalton vicarage

Fr. Tom Sample to host Bishop Rob including dinner


7.00pm

St. Mary’s, Dalton

Holy Communion led by Bishop Rob at St. Mary’s, Dalton
