St. Mary's, Penny Bridge are delighted to once again be able to host Year 5 and Year 6 from Penny Bridge Academy on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd December and enable the pupils to "Experience Christmas".As part of Experience Christmas, small groups of 3 or 4 children move around 5 stations, with each station explaining a part of the Christmas story through an interactive visual display.Station 1 — The Preparation, the story of Advent and how we prepare our homes and our hearts for the birth of Jesus.Station 2 — The Announcement, the story of the Angel Gabriel coming to Mary to announce that she would give birth to God's Son, Jesus.Station 3 — The Promises, the story of the Wise Men and the promises of a Messiah.Station 4 — The Journey, the story of the Mary and Joseph travelling from Nazareth to Bethlehem.Station 5 — The Message, the story of the Angels visiting the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus.Finally, the groups of children all gather for the final Station 6 — The Gift, the story of Jesus bringing light and hope into a dark world.
Holy Trinity, Colton are hosting a Winter Warmer at Bouth Village Hall on Saturday 22nd November, 12.00-2.00pm. Hot soup and drinks will be available, as well as an opportunity to catch-up with one another.All are welcome to come and warm up!
Our new Bishop of Carlisle, the Rt. Revd. Rob Saner-Haigh will be visiting Furness deanery on Wednesday 5th November 2025.During his visit, Bishop Rob will be meeting parishioners in a number of parish settings, visiting Church schools to see Open the Book and experience an after-school Christian club.
