Church of England Diocese of Carlisle St. Mary, Rydal

St Mary

A very warm "Welcome" to St Mary's, Rydal

Our church was built by Lady le Fleming of Rydal Hall and one of the churchwardens was William Wordsworth ten years later. The intimate chapel with a luminous stained glass east window has been treasured ever since.

Come and visit us, as well as nearby Rydal Mount and Rydal Hall, all with beautiful gardens. Walk round Rydal Water and stop for tea at Rydal Hall's teashop. We look forward to welcoming you.

St Mary's has incorporated Taize chants into Common Worship Order One for many years as well as hymns and organ music. Come and share in our beautiful chapel nestled into the fell rock, next to Dora's Field and near Rydal Mount and Rydal Hall.

There are gardens all around to visit, and Rydal Hall has a tea shop which also serves lunches.

We look forward to welcoming you!
