About Us

The parish of St Bridget's Calderbridge, with Ponsonby and Low Church has adopted the Carlisle Diocesan Safeguarding Policy in line with the National Church of England Policy and the PCC and the APCM receive regular reports on safeguarding from our Parish Safeguarding Officer.

If you have any concerns please contact the Parish Safeguarding Officer, Mrs S Millard 01946 725365 or the Diocesan Advisor, Charles Proctor, on 07458 016884 [email protected].

If you believe a child to be at immediate risk you must contact Cumbria Children's Services 0333 240 1727 or the Police.

Urgent concerns about vulnerable adults should be referred to your local District Adult Social Care Office 0300 303 2704 or, out of normal office hours, the Emergency Duty Team 01228 526690, or the Police.

The congregation of St Bridget always extends a warm and friendly welcome to visitors and newcomers to their regular services.

Sunday Services are currently taking place in the Village Hall situated next door to the church, this is because the church roof is in need of urgent repairs.

The parish of Calderbridge also has two other places of worship, Ponsonby Church and Low Church.  During the summer months worship takes place in Ponsonby on the second Sunday of the month.  Low Church has three services of evening prayer each year, in May, July and September.  These two churches are well worth a visit not only for their historical interest but they also provide a quiet place for prayer and reflection.
