Dawn Service at Hadleigh Castle

Occurring

Venue
Hadleigh Castle
Address
Hadleigh Castle, United Kingdom

As the sun rises over Hadleigh Castle, we gather in the early morning to celebrate the greater dawn of Easter: the light of Christ rising in the world.

Hadleigh Christians meet together for a brief, ecumenical Sunrise Service at Hadleigh Castle at 6:10am on Sunday 5th April, with churches from across Hadleigh, and music led by the Salvation Army. In the gentle light of morning, we will renew our baptism vows together, reminding ourselves that Christ’s light is not only around us, but also within us — kindled in our hearts, and sent out to be shared.

All are warmly welcome.

St Michael & All Angels, Daws Heath

St Michael’s is a modern wooden church set in a peaceful field, surrounded by woodland — and you’ll find a warm welcome here.

Our heart is to be a blessing to the local community. We’re here in seasons of joy and in times of sorrow, and we want to help people explore faith by sharing God’s love openly and honestly. We’re not a church that shuts the doors and keeps itself to itself — our life together is outward-looking, community-focused, and everyone is welcome to join in.

Baptisms and Thanksgivings

Alongside baptisms, we also offer a Thanksgiving Service to celebrate the birth of a child. This is ideal for parents who would like to give thanks for new life but aren’t ready to make the promises that come with baptism.

Weddings

St Michael’s is a beautiful, light-filled building and a much-loved setting for wedding photos — a special place to mark a special day.

Funerals

We can support families by taking funeral services in church, or—if you would prefer—our clergy can also arrange, through local funeral directors, to lead services at the crematorium.
