About Us

St Peter’s is a Church of England church that has been at the heart of Rock Ferry since 1844. Today, our aim is that St Peter’s feels like a home from home, a church family where everyone is welcome.

Our life as a church is informed by four core values:

Firstly, a gospel commitment. We aim to be rooted and built up in our faith in Jesus. He is the most significant person that ever lived, his cross and resurrection the most important events in history. We want to understand who Jesus is, what he’s done for us and what it means to follow Him. That’s why we’re committed to hearing from the bible, because we believe it is God’s word to us about Jesus and His good design for life present and future.

Secondly we’re committed to being a gospel community. We are uniquely united as followers of Jesus and we seek to live that out in shared lives, supporting, serving and encouraging one another.

Thirdly we’re committed to our gospel commission, to making Jesus known both as individuals and corporately as a church of his people. If He really is the hope for our world, then we want others to hear about Him, so they can make up their minds from an informed position.

Fourthly, we believe we're called to demonstrate the love of God, as he has loved us, by showing a gospel compassion in serving our community. You can find out more about what we do under 'care' listed in the services and events section.
