On Monday 24th August contractors Grosvenor Construction Ltd. were on site and raring to go. Portacabins appeared along with lots of people in hi-vis jackets. The site was marked out and a pathway through the churchyard fenced off to allow for the heavy machinery to access the site. On Friday 28th August Rev'd Jane met with the builders and the archeologists to 'break the ground', an important moment but low-key due to social distancing.
The work will mean that for a time sections of the car park will be out of bounds and that the churchyard can only be accessed via the church track (down the side of the Parr Arms). The inconvenience will be worth it though and, as we see our beautiful new building emerge, we can give thanks to God for a new phase in our church's life. A huge thank you to all the organisations and individuals who have generously donated to this scheme. Funds are still needed to complete the project.
