Our new Vicar arrives!

Parishioners at St George’s Church of England Altrincham are looking forward to the arrival of theirnew vicar, Rev Claire Corley. Claire will begin her ministry at St George’s in September with herfirst Sunday Services on the 4th September, the main service starting at 9.30am. 


Claire has worked for many years as a secondary school history teacher before being ordained in 2017 in the

Diocese of Leeds. Her experience as a teacher will stand her in good stead when liaising with thelocal Altrincham CoE aided Primary School and other schools in the area.


Claire has just moved to Altrincham and is really looking forward to meeting everyone at StGeorge’s, as well as the wider community in Altrincham. Claire and her husband have threechildren, many pets, and loves walking and nature. Parishioners were delighted when Claireagreed to accept the offer to become their new vicar at St George’s and are waiting with muchexcitement on her arrival.


St. George's was founded 1799 and has been the Church of England Parish Church of Altrinchamsince 1868 with ten former vicars, but Claire is the first female vicar.
