Church of England Diocese of Chester Eaton with Hulme Walfield

COVID-19 Pandemic information

As COVID-19 is still within our villages and congregations, as it is across the world, we need to remain vigilant in our observance of precautions. It is clear that infections mostly occur when precautions are ignored.

Please read the following before coming to church.

- Be aware that best estimates suggest 1 in 100 people is now infectious - whether or not they are aware of it.

Instructions

- If you have the following symptoms, please do not attend services: coughs, dry throat, high temperature, loss of smell or taste, or feel generally unwell.

- We MUST wear masks in church.

- We all need to observe the 2m rule, even when wearing masks.

- On entering and leaving the church, please use the hand sanitiser provided by the Door Person, and please be careful what you touch.

- On entering the church, please go directly to the available designated pew seat, and only share a pew with people from the same household or bubble.

- Please chat with your friends only from your pew and not in the aisle. At the end of the service, leave the church directly from your pew and do not linger in the aisle, or inside the church.

- We are not allowed to socialise in groups of more than six at the end of the service, which must be outside. Sixes still need to be 2m apart from each other. And, you cannot move from one group of six to another.

Information about services

- There are no pew sheets provided in church, but they can be seen on the Rural Daneside app (see the Rural Daneside smartphone app page on this website), and attached to the information on the website about the individual service. See Services and Events.

- There will be no collection in church, but a collection vessel will be available near the entrance for money and gift aid envelopes. Ideally, please contact the church treasurer and arrange for a standing order to be put in place, if you wish to do so.

- Holy Communion will be in one kind only; the wine will be consumed only by the minister. Please come to the chancel steps with others from your pew, when called by the minister. Hand sanitiser will be dispensed by the Door Person before you receive communion.

- We regret that singing is not permitted, until further notice.

- There is no restriction on who can come to church - whatever condition or age. The choice is yours alone. For those who want to reduce the risk of exposure, our services at Hulme Walfield remain the lowest risk services and anyone is welcome at these services.

- For information about weddings and funerals, please get in touch for the latest government guidance.
