Church of England Diocese of Coventry St Mary Warwick

St. Mary's Warwick

Welcome to the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Warwick

St Mary's Church is an historic landmark, tourist attraction and busy parish church which is set in the ancient town of Warwick. The church is one of the largest in Britain and people have worshipped here for over 1,000 years.

We seek to be an open and welcoming church for all.

We aim to offer a variety of services during the week and at special times during the year, including choral (robed choir with organ accompaniment), spoken acts of worship and a monthly all-age service for the whole family to join-in. We aim to serve the different cross‐sections of our community, regular church‐goers and visitors alike.

We have begun to reopen and restart services in church following the pandemic lockdown. At present this includes socially-distanced private prayer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-3pm, Choral Evensong on Wednesdays at 5.30pm (except 28 October), and Sunday Worship at 10.30am. Sunday services are live streamed on Facebook and uploaded to our YouTube channel afterwards.

Please remember that face masks are mandatory for all public worship.

We hope that here and on the St Mary's website you'll find information about our life and community, that will encourage you to join us in worshipping the Living God who, in Jesus Christ, makes his home among us.

Our Sunday Worship alternates each week between a service based on the Church of England’s Daily Prayer and a celebration of the Eucharist (alternatively known as Holy Communion, Mass or The Lord's Supper). The Eucharist is a service in which Christians follow Jesus' command to his followers, to share bread and wine in remembrance of him. Both services include Bible readings, prayer, a sermon and music sung by our choir. Congregational singing remains prohibited at present.

On entering the church, you'll be asked your name and for a contact phone number, so we may keep a temporary list of worshippers for COVID tracking and tracing purposes. You'll be escorted to a socially-distanced seat.
Hand sanitiser is available for you to use both on entry and exit. In England, face coverings are currently required by law to be worn at all times in places of worship (unless valid exceptions apply).
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
