God is always there with us in our troubles; if we reach out to Him, He will guide us. He has kept his promise to look after us. We often say how lucky we are when something good happens to us. No one ever promised us that taking up our crosses and following Jesus would be an easy option. Just as members of the early church faced hardships and persecution, living the Christian life today can be truly difficult at times. As Christians, we are not immune from the realities of the broken world we inhabit. Persecution, difficult relationships, sadness, illness and grief are all too often part of our journeys.
