St Matthew's Church and the adjacent Sacheverell-Bateman Mausoleum will be open to the public. St Matthew's Church is noted for its medieval stained glass windows, memorial brasses and armorial tiles. The Church is listed in Simon Jenkins' Book "England's 1,000 Best Churches" and is well worth a visit.
There will be a display of progress being made on the National Heritage Lottery funded project to restore 4 of the medieval glass windows, including 3 that came from Dale Abbey at the dissolution of the monastery.
The Morley School Show will also be taking place in the Retreat House grounds next door from 12 noon to 5 pm. Refreshments will be available and all are welcome!
THE CHURCH SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE EARLIER TIME OF 9.30 AM
