🚶🏽‍♂️ On foot — paths through the churchyard lead to the riverbanks.  There's a zebra crossing right outside the church.

🚌 Bus — from Durham Bus Station, nos. 6, 41, 42, 56, 57, 57A, 58 & X12 stop across the road (ask for St. Oswald's Church).  

These services run into Durham from Bishop Auckland (6, 56), Bowburn (56, 57, 57A, 58, X12), Cockfield (6), Coundon (56), Coxhoe (57, 57A, X12), Ferryhill (56), Hartlepool (57A), Kelloe (57), Kirk Merrington (56), Middlesbrough (X12), Sedgefield (X12), Shincliffe (56, 57, 57A, 58, X12), Spennymoor (6), Stockton (X12), Trimdon (57A), West Auckland (6), and Wingate (57A).

🚅 Train — Durham is easy to reach by train from local, regional and national stations.  Bus services 41 and 42 run from the southbound side of the railway station past St. Oswald's Church.

Park & Ride — the PR2 service from Howlands Farm Park & Ride (car park open 7am–7pm) stops at the New Inn, some 250yds south of the church.

🚗 Car — the limited on-street parking outside the church and in neighbouring streets is (from 1st April '24) no longer free on Sundays or Bank Holidays, but continues to be free outside the hours 8am–6pm.  Church St. and Oswald Ct. have metered parking 8am–6pm; beware other streets, which have residents-only parking during these times.
