St Andrew's

St Andrew's is the Parish Church for Dalton-le-Dale, serving the community from the village, north to the Dalton Grange and Dalton Heights estates and includes the streets up to the boundary with Westlea.

Following the Church of England faith, it is part of the Diocese of Durham and is in the Deanery of Easington.

We are a welcoming and friendly church in the picturesque setting of Dalton-le-Dale village. A Grade II* listed building dating back over 860 years to Norman times, however evidence indicates worship has been held on the site for longer. The congregation are always ready to welcome new faces to our services and events.

After being closed for over a year due to restoration work, we were pleased to open for Christmas 2019, and started planning a range of activities for the benefit of the community and wider public. A weekly craft class was becoming very popular and the first Friendship Café and Book Exchange was held with good attendance. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions came into operation the church was forced to close. We are resuming these activities and meeting up again with friends old and new.

We are now open for our Sunday services following our usual pattern of times. Please see the ‘Services’ tab to the left of the page. Hopefully we will soon be open for our other planned activities and events.

The parish of Dalton le Dale is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies.
