St Andrew's is the Parish Church for Dalton-le-Dale, serving the community from the village, north to the Dalton Grange and Dalton Heights estates and includes the streets up to the boundary with Westlea.
Following the Church of England faith, it is part of the Diocese of Durham and is in the Deanery of Easington.
We are a welcoming and friendly church in the picturesque setting of Dalton-le-Dale village. A Grade II* listed building dating back over 860 years to Norman times, however evidence indicates worship has been held on the site for longer. The congregation are always ready to welcome new faces to our services and events.
We are pleased to announce that after being closed for over a year for restoration work we are now open and planning a range of activities for the benefit of the community and wider public.
The parish of Dalton-le-Dale is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
