Church of England Diocese of Durham Haswell

About Us

St. Paul's Church is the parish church for Haswell. There is a service of Holy Communion on Sunday morning at 9.15am. Coffee is served after the service and you would be very welcome to join us!

Every Thursday, Morning Prayer is said at 9.30am and there is Open Church for the rest of the am. A chance to meet and talk to the vicar, churchwarden or other church members.

On Wednesday mornings from 9.30 to 11.30 there is a toddler and carer get together. This is to allow young, pre school children to play together and for their carers to meet and socialize.

Every Thursday from 11.30 to 13.30 we run 'Locals who Lunch'. A two course meal is provided for the small fee of £5.00. Anyone can attend and we will arrange transport door to door for anyone who needs this. Meals are provided by Haswell Catering. We enjoy a meal, fellowship, hymn singing and prayer.

There is also a service of Holy Communion at 9.30am on the first Thursday of each month. This is followed by a coffee morning with bacon/sausage butties and cake sale.

A Messy Church is held on the third Sunday of the month from 3pm to 5pm. Lots of fun, activity, worship and food for young and old.

We are a friendly and welcoming congregation who are seeking to live out our Christian faith in the wider community. If you would like to find out more about the Christian faith and/or the church, do get in touch.

St. Paul's is participating in the East Durham Mission Project - which is a group of 9 local parishes who are working together for God's hopeful future. You can find out more about the project here:
