We are a small but growing church in North-West Durham with a unique heritage, serving the parish of Leadgate since 1867. We operate as part of the HELM Group of Churches. (HELM - Hamsterley, Ebchester, Leadgate & Medomsley)
All are welcome at St Ives' and we look forward to meeting you!

Our village church, dedicated to St Mary Magdalene, dates back to the middle of the twelfth century. We are a friendly church and offer a warm welcome to all.

St John the Evangelist, Castleside
St. John's Church is located in Castleside at the crossroads on the A68. It serves the communities of Castleside, Rowley, Moorside and The Grove - and offers a warm welcome to all.
We are now in a new era at St John's following the retirement of Rev. Martin Jackson. The Church now has two services most weeks on Wednesday and Sunday. Please check the noticeboard on this website for details. We are very fortunate to have a small team of wonderful people who lead these services including the Rev.
