Sunday Worship

Every Sunday at for 1 hour
St Jude
St Jude's Terrace South Shields Newcastle upon Tyne, NE33 4QN, United Kingdom

Our main weekend gathering, followed by refreshments. All are welcome. Some weeks this is a service of Holy Communion, and we operate an open table - receive if you would like. Some weeks this is a service of word and music, led by different members of our leadership team.

St Jude

Welcome to the parish of St Jude, the parish church for Laygate, Rekendyke and Tyne Dock. A beautiful Victorian building, we stand in the central Anglican tradition of worship, where we welcome you whoever you are and whomever you love, with female priests and worship leaders, and several friendly and well-behaved dogs. We host an active children's Toddler group, a seniors' meetup group and many community parties and events in our accessible and well-appointed church hall.

Safeguarding

The parish of St Jude is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO) who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact Angela on 07813 345747 or the DSO (details below). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and the local authority Children or Adults Services.
