Church of England Diocese of Durham St. Lawrence the Martyr, Horsley Hill (South Shields)

St Lawrence the Martyr, Horsley Hill

You’ll find us along Centenary Avenue (not far from the Nook), where our modern Church of England building (and beautiful garden) is home to a warm and welcoming church family. We try to show Jesus’s love for us in our worship of him and in how we serve alongside our local community and beyond.

DUE TO THE ONGOING GLOBAL PANDEMIC THE PCC OF ST LAWRENCE THE MARTYR, IN AGREEMENT WITH THE BISHOP OF DURHAM, HAVE REGRETFULLY SUSPENDED PUBLIC WORSHIP INSIDE THE CHURCH BUILDING. THIS DECISION WILL BE REVIEWED MID APRIL IN LINE WITH CURRENT GUIDELINES.

ALTHOUGH ST LAWRENCE’S BUILDING IS CLOSED FOR PUBLIC WORSHIP, OUR SUNDAY MASS WILL BE LIVESTREAMED ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AT 9:30AM EACH WEEK, AND AVAILABLE ON OUR TELEPHONE CATCH-UP SERVICE (0191 814 4138) LATER THAT DAY. YOU CAN ALSO JOIN IN OUR WEDNESDAY MASS AT 10AM EACH WEEK VIA OUR PHONE CHURCH SERVICE.

DETAILS FOR THIS, ALONG WITH THE ORDER OF SERVICE FOR SUNDAYS AND OTHER SPIRITUAL RESOURCES FOR USE AT HOME CAN BE FOUND HERE

ADDITIONALLY, WE ARE OPEN FOR INDIVIDUAL PRAYER EVERY TUESDAY 10-11AM
