Getting here

St. Margaret's is a small friendly church on the edge of Peterborough, but in the diocese of Ely.  There are Norman features from the 12th century with additions in the 14th century.  St. Margaret's has several 9th Century Saxon carvings.  There are some unique features to these carvings as authenticated by the Durham University Anglo Saxon Project.  A frieze is set above the altar having been brought inside the church from the outside east end wall in 1963.  There are two further carvings set into the south chancel wall which represent two evangelists and have only recently been authenticated as Anglo Saxon.

We have regular contact with our local schools, the Serbian community and sheltered accomodations.  Our refreshments after the Sunday morning service is well attended and on the first Sunday in the month the service finishes earlier to allow all the congregation to stay and for the Revd. Gammon to join with us before having to leave for the 11am service at his other church, St. Augustine's Woodston.

Our services are traditional, with lively hymns both old and new accompanied by our organist.

We have a multicultural congregation, everyone is welcome.
