Covid 19 update:
If someone you know and love has died, or dies within the next few days, of whatever cause, a small funeral, led by a Church of England minister can still be held in a churchyard, or by a graveside, or at a crematorium. We cannot currently hold funeral services in the church building. Keep checking back for updates.
A funeral is used to mark the end of a person’s life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God’s keeping. Everyone is entitled to a Church Service in their local Parish Church. This can be taken by their local parish priest regardless of whether they attended church or not. Similarly, anyone can ask for their local vicar to officiate at a funeral at a Crematorium or Woodland Burial site.
Ring 07742 700319 (24 hours) to book a funeral anywhere in the Gloucester City area whether it is for a church service or at a Crematorium. If you are looking to arrange a funeral in a Church of England church, we will aim to have a date and time agreed with you within 24 hours of your call and give details of who will be leading the service. For funerals in crematoria and woodland burial sites we would expect to accept the date and time you have arranged and confirm who will lead the ceremony with you within 24 hours of your call.
