Church of England Diocese of Gloucester Shurdington

St Paul

Welcome to the page for St Paul's Shurdington. We are part of The Greenway Benefice, which includes ourselves and our sister churches, Holy Trinity Badgeworth and St Mary's Witcombe with Bentham.  Click here for a link to the Benefice page and our other churches.

Within the limits set by Covid-19 restrictions, our church is open, we are holding services both physically and on-line, and we are continuing to be a supportive Christian presence in our local communities.

St Paul's church is currently open for individual private prayer on Wednesday's from 10am to 2pm, and can also be opened by arrangement with the churchwardens. We hope to be able to open the church every day as previously, once the Coronavirus restrictions are eased.

Visitors are asked to follow the steward's advice, including usual safe distancing and following the current guidelines e.g. use of hand sanitiser, wearing face masks or face coverings etc. Thank you.

July 2021: Services are currently held at St Paul's at 9.30am three times a month, with a benefice service on the fourth Sunday (this rotates around our three Parishes)

You are very welcome to come along any Sunday - you will be warmly welcomed, but please book in advance with the churchwardens for gathered services as space is limited. (See Parish Contact details page)

Benefice on-line worship services are also held every Sunday on Facebook, we also hold several weekday on-line services - details of all on-line worship in the Greenway Benefice can be found in the Services and events section.

See the Services and Events section on this site and the Weekly Sheet in News and Notices for more details of services on-line and in our churches (and churchyards).

How else are we being church at the moment?

Praying lots. Ringing friends and neighbours. Shopping for people. Staying home as much as we can.

Why not try saying the Lord's Prayer at noon, online or offline, from wherever you are?

Resources are available online and via email. We are livestreaming worship on our Facebook page, and some services are now on Zoom - see the Services and Events section for details.

New YouTube Channel

We now have a YouTube channel "Greenway Churches". Anyone can go to the channel to watch worship videos from our Facebook services, as well as special worship videos for children. Do take a look and subscribe to receive notifications when we add new videos.

Because church is still church, wherever we are. 🙏
