All are welcome to take part in the Good Friday Walk of Witness with St Arilda's Church as we prayerfully remember the sacrifice of Christ. Gathering together, we will walk in quiet reflection, sharing readings, prayers, and moments of silence as we bear witness to the meaning of the cross. This moving community act of faith offers a time for contemplation, unity, and hope.

St Mary's Thornbury

St Mary's is a warm and welcoming community in the market town of Thornbury. With a traditional choir and wonderful Norman building we are a popular destination for weddings and other celebrations, and welcome all comers. We proudly achieved our Eco Church Silver Award with Arocha in 2020.

Services are running across the benefice. You can also find services from St Mary's live-streamed to our YouTube page. If we can help you with searching for a place of worship, or planning for services for life events don't hesitate to get in touch with our benefice office at [email protected]

The benefice of Thornbury, Oldbury and Shepperdine is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Gloucester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
