Easter at St. Lawrence began with the quiet contemplation of Good Friday in a church stripped of adornment, with the wooden cross at its heart. Between 2pm and 3pm Charles Masheder led us through Jesus's "last hour" inspired by the lines from the hymn "When I Survey the wondrous cross" that say "See from his head, his, hands, his feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down". On Saturday the transformation of the church ready for Easter Day took place and by Sunday morning the sunlit church was beautifully decorated, the Easter Garden outside showed the stone rolled away and the cross was garlanded with flowers. Erik and Freddie from the Toddler group (with a lot of help from their mums!!)  provided an Easter garden made of children's toys to help tell the story inside church. Chocolate eggs were shared and bunny ears were worn and once more the GOOD NEWS of Jesus's resurrection was proclaimed. See the attached file for pictures.
