On Sunday 12th July, our organist Henry played a great voluntary at the end of the service then immediately swapped his music for a strimmer and began tackling the long grass in the upper churchyard! He was joined by the Morrises and the Nicklins and in 30 degree heat the vegetation was cut back and raked up thanks to the hard work of all involved. It didn't take much to fill the green bin and the rest of the cuttings were left in the sun ready to refill the bin in the week.
HUGE THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED SO FAR.
There is still more to do, mainly focusing on the lower churchyard. The plan is to continue the work at 2pm next Sunday 19th. If you are free and feel able to help, please come along, bringing any suitable garden tools (rake/ strimmer/ secateurs) with you if you have them, but otherwise, just bring yourselves to take a turn. Email [email protected] if you have any queries.
